On October 5th, 2025 at the Basilica Notre Dame, the Right Reverend Monsignor Daniel Pacho, Undersecretary for the Holy See’s Multilateral Sector, Section for Relations with States and International Organizations, celebrated a Holy Mass to mark the 111th World Day of Migrants and Refugees, as well as the 76th Session of the Executive Committee of UNHCR.
The Mission was delighted to welcome a number of Ambassadors, diplomatic personnel and staff from different international organizations to the Mass. Following the conclusion of the Mass, His Excellency Mr. Filippo Grandi, the United Nations’ High Commissioner for Refugees and Her Excellency Mrs. Amy Pope, Director General of the International Organization for Migration, gave a short speech. Both speeches connected care of migrants and refugees with the Gospel Message and highlighted the critical role the Catholic Church plays in supporting migrants and refugees.
